The Skinny On Fats
For some reason, everyone makes fat the enemy. The truth is that fat doesn’t make you fat, carbs do!Do you understand what this means? It means that
eating “low fat” labeled foods will still pack weight on you just the same as the regular version of that food.I understand that this is a hard concept to grasp because our society bases weight loss on a lower amount of calories. This is a half truth. This is why a natural detox and weight loss program is the best option. These type of diets do not rely solely on decreasing your caloric intake.
Consuming low fat diet foods is not good for you. Fat helps to slow the blood sugar response in your body when you eat and this stops weight gain. Most fat free or low fat diet foods are packed full of artificial sweetners such as aspartame, splenda,etc.. Your body has no clue what to do with these and they can cause hunger cravings.Your body will store these artificial sweeteners as toxins in fat cells.
Until you successfully remove those toxins,it will be tremendously hard to lose weight.Numerous health conditions, signs and symptoms can be caused by using artificial sweeteners including neurological and degenerative diseases.
Fat is used in our body for various health functions.A major portion of our brains are made of fat. There is a fat layer that surrounds your nerves called myelin and if you start to lose it, neurodegenerative diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis will occur.
Our cells rely on healthy fat for proper functioning. This allows the cell membrane to stay fluid so that cellular waste and nutrition can move in and out of each cell.
Last, our body requires fat to help produce our hormones and keep them balanced.
Why we need fats:
- supply insulation and protection for the organs
- help store and transport fat-soluble vitamins (A,D,E, and K)
- aids in helping the body to absorb minerals. (Low fat diets cause osteoporosis because of poor mineral absorption.
- causes fat mobilization ( that’s right, you eat fat to lose fat!)
- controls your blood sugar by slowing the absorption rate of carbs
- Reduces hunger signals causing you to feel more full.
Be sure that you are eating healthy fats and not transfats, vegetable fats, or saturated fats.
Good Fats:
- Omega 3 fats are found in cold water fish such as sardines, salmon, tuna, and krill.
- Other sources include naturally raised grass and vegetable fed animals, almonds, walnuts, avocados, pumpkin seeds, extra virgin olive oil, coconut and coconut oil.
Consuming healthy fats are a key component in any natural weight loss detox program or any diet program for that matter. Be sure that you add it to your diet today.
