Junonia Plus Size Women’s Clothing: Product Report and Consumer Feedback
Junonia Plus Size Women’s Clothing, founded in 1995, has a basic mission of inspiring and motivating active women to live life to the fullest extent, its Web site says. “We are not just selling clothing, but also a way to feel good about yourself,” Junonia founder Anne Kelly said on the company’s Web site. “Customers often tell us that finally finding a source for gym clothes or swimwear has made it possible for them to become active and really enjoy it for the first time in ages. We certainly strive for financial success, but comments like that are worth more than any dollar amount.”
The company’s foundation was based in Kelly’s observation that plus-size women could not find attractive and well-made athletic clothing to meet their needs. “I was seeing a lot of women like me at the YMCA,” Kelly was quoted on the Web site, “and I knew I was having a terrible time finding things.”
The majority of Junonia plus size women’s clothing apparel is designed in-house by its merchandising team, with an eye toward current and classic trends in activewear. The company Web site claims product innovation, a great fit, consistent quality and attention to our customers’ needs have made Junonia plus size women’s clothing a leader in the marketplace and a go-to source for women looking for comfortable, long-lasting clothing that inspires them with a sense of confidence.
In March 1995 from a one-room office in downtown Saint Paul, Minn., Junonia issued its first eight-page catalog. Since then, the Eagan, Minnesota-based company has grown to become the leading exclusive retailer of women’s plus-size activewear in the US, its Web site claims. These days, thousands of customers visit the Junonia Web site or call the 24-hour hotline each day, and more than five million catalogs are mailed each year. With the opening of a new Juno’s Closet outlet store in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the company took its first steps into storefront retail in 2008.
